Classes for local entrepreneurs hosted by Nucleus | Business

Louisville, Ky. - 35 Louisville-area entrepreneurs and owners of start-up companies are learning how to get ideas off the ground and grow their businesses during a training course sponsored by Nucleus. Nucleus is Kentucky’s innovation center and an arm of the UofL Foundation.

The Kauffman FastTrac TechVenture program began September 10 with ten weeks of Monday night classes to help new business owners and inventors with concept analysis, fund raising, accounting, legal and business development. 

“The Kauffman program was a great resource for me,” said Alex Frommeyer of Beam Technologies, a past participant. “This mini MBA provided fantastic coaching support and helped connect me to other entrepreneurs as well as to people with capital.”

This fall’s Kauffman program class includes six military veterans who are part of VetStart, a pilot program developed by UofL’s College of Business to help military veterans start their own businesses. 12 other participants are sponsored by the Vogt Foundation, which funds entrepreneurial programs and ideas.

This is the fourth Kauffman class sponsored by Nucleus. 

“This is a great way to feed the local entrepreneurial ecosystem” said Nucleus CEO Vickie Yates Brown.  “These classes have been an incredible success and we hope to continue them and help smart people get their ideas from the mind to the marketplace.”
