Highway dedicated to fallen soldier
A Hardin County highway was dedicated to a soldier killed in Afghanistan this holiday weekend.
Family and friends of 1st Lt. Eric Yates gathered in his hometown of Rineyville to honor the soldier by adding his name to a portion of Kentucky 1538. Yates, who grew up on this road, died while serving in 2010.
His mother, Kathy Yates, told those who attended the dedication ceremony that she was grateful for the show of appreciation.
Two signs were posted designating the road at 1st Lt. Yates Memorial Highway.
