ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) – Firefighters in Hardin County organized a special yard sale to help one of their fellow firefighters.
Radcliff firefighter Leroy Lewis lost his son in a recent car accident. His wife was so badly injured in the accident that she was in a coma for a month and missed her son’s funeral.
To help the family cover their medical expenses, firefighters across Hardin County organized an indoor yard sale.
“We are a brotherhood regardless of if you’re career, volunteer, whatever. We’re a brotherhood. We support each other,” said Chief Michael Hulsey, Elizabethtown Fire Department.
The yard sale runs from 8 in the morning until 3 Saturday at the Pritchard Community Center on South Mulberry Street in Elizabethtown.
